Have you noticed our new “Agreements” tab on the marketplace yet?
Traditionally, there were two different ways of selling products on CheMondis. Suppliers can either choose to sell products directly as instant deals at fixed list prices or they can individually issue quotes based on quote requests from prospective customers. A couple of months ago CheMondis introduced the “special offer” feature, which allows suppliers to make custom deals for selected buyers, as both an instant deal or a quote request.
For a couple of weeks, CheMondis now offers another option to help buy and sell chemicals on the marketplace – the Agreement. This new tool allows Buyers and Suppliers to agree on terms for recurring orders, such as longer-term contracts and agreements.
What is a Recurring Order?
A recurring order refers to a repetitive purchase of the same product from the same supplier. For example: Buyer A requests a specific product offer on CheMondis from seller B. They negotiate on the marketplace and ultimately the deal is made.
Here’s the catch: Buyer A needs the specific product every week. Instead of repeating this process over and over, the new Agreement Management simplifies the process and lets both parties agree on a specific price for a particular quantity over a specified period of time. Meaning: Agreement management allows suppliers to make longer term arrangements with buyers.
Now Buyer A and seller B can make an agreement on CheMondis, allowing them to repeat a purchase every week, until either the agreement or the volume has expired.
How does it Work for Buyers?
Step 1: Make a quote request on the product you are interested in
Step 2: Head to “Agreements” inside of the Quote Request tab
Step 3: Fill in the mandatory fields (including start and end date of the agreement; price; min. order value and max order value, total value, quote/unit; incoterms; delivery address etc.) and select “request”.
Step 4: See all information in the Agreement detail screen. Within this tab you are can chat with the seller directly via our inbuilt chat feature.
Step 5: Wait and receive an offer from the seller. See all offer information in the current offer field. Select accept. (Of course, you may also reject the offer and renegotiate the agreement).
Step 6: Head to the Agreement list and check the current status. On-Going: Agreements that are taking place in the present. Confirmed: Agreements that will take place in the future. Expired: Agreements that have already taken place in the past.
Step 7: Select “Add to cart” in the Agreement list and the “orders” screen will appear.
Step 8: Determine the quantities and delivery dates for each order of the agreement.
Step 9: Select “Add to Cart” within the order screen.
Step 10: Head to the “Shopping Cart” and select “Proceed to Checkout”.
Step 11: Select “Confirm Order” in the “Summary” field.
How does it Work for Suppliers?
Step 1: Receive a Quote / Agreement Request from a buyer.
Step 2: Head to the Quote /Agreement detail screen and create an offer.
Step 3: Select Agreement (As a seller you can also decide to give a quote instead of an agreement.) The information in the Agreement field is pre-filled, but can be changed by the seller.
Step 4: (When your Buyer is requesting the first call-off from your agreement) Head to the main dashboard and select ”orders”.
Step 5: View the details of each order of the Agreement.
Step 6: “Accept”, “reject” or “renegotiate” each order of the Agreement individually. *Keep in mind that you can renegotiate at any time.
In a nutshell
Buyers and Suppliers on CheMondis need a convenient way of addressing recurring orders. To facilitate this CheMondis has developed the Agreements Management Tool, which allows both Buyers and Suppliers to save time on repetitive orders and longer term contracts.
You can also use the Agreements Tool to manage your contracts with your existing Buyers or Suppliers. Just enter the Agreement as described above and profit from full transparency about all details and call-offs.

The CheMondis Team is super excited to announce that we have launched a new feature a couple of weeks ago. One which makes the lives of both our customers and our team a lot easier. It is now possible to upload product listings in bulk!
Uploading Multiple Products
Before the launch of the new feature, most products were uploaded individually. This process assured very high quality of product data but was very time consuming for either the customer or our team. In most cases, customers would send the product information to us, and we would perform the upload for them.
This is getting a lot easier since we introduced the bulk upload. Suppliers on CheMondis can now upload hundreds of products at the same time for free. Thousands of products have already been bulk-uploaded successfully since launch.
How does it work?
It is very simple. Log in to CheMondis, download, edit and fill in the template, get it verified by our team, and upload it back to the platform. That’s it!
CheMondis provides a practical template to add product listings to the marketplace. The template is a custom-made Microsoft Excel file and is easy to use.
Of course, other spreadsheet software is compatible as well (e.g. Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice, etc.). The template contains FAQs, common errors, and detailed instructions on how to fill out the file.
Once the upload is done, you can of course still check and edit each product page afterward in our product management tool. This might be relevant when product information or availability change.
Make an attractive Product Page
When selling products online, suppliers will naturally try to market their products in the best way possible. While doing so, clear communication about product information towards potential buyers is the key to success. In order to communicate product information properly, try to make your product page as attractive as possible.
Your product page displays all relevant information of a specific product. Making it the first touchpoint with potential buyers. Don’t mess up the first impression. Keep your product page up to date and give customers a reason to buy.
Here at CheMondis, we offer multiple product attributes for suppliers to describe their product in-depth. Ranging from CAS and REACH numbers to free-text product descriptions. Excellent information quality and communication towards buyers can boost your sales.
Now it is up to you
What do you think of the CheMondis Bulk Upload? Is it helpful? What is most helpful to you? And which other features could be useful on the marketplace? Let us know and leave a comment in the section below!

As a marketplace, we act as a mediator between buyers and suppliers. Our main goal is to match a specific buyer demand with a fitting supplier. When buyers turn to the CheMondis marketplace to buy chemicals online, the first stop for them is our search bar. It is located at the top center of the CheMondis marketplace.
Buyers can make use of our search functions and find products conveniently. Suppliers can cast light on their own product portfolio by appearing in the CheMondis search. Our search bar includes a vast variety of functions. For example, it shows you query suggestions, helping you find products even faster.
“Finding the right product for your specific need is our central goal!” Sebastian Brenner – Managing Director
Using Product Search Efficiently as a Buyer
In order to reduce the time you invest into searching for chemicals, we installed three different search trails into CheMondis. You can find new suppliers, new products, and new substances by using our search bar and filters.
Receive a vast array of products by using the search bar. While doing so, search by product name, substance, formula, CAS number, and/or supplier name. In order for you to find products and substances even faster, query suggestions show up, while typing in a search term.
On the upper left sidebar, buyers can filter by industries, referring to the industry in which the product is applied in. Suppliers and Buyers can filter by the following industries:

Multiple industry filters can be combined and applied.

You may also combine all search options: For example, use the search bar and then apply industry filters and product group information to limit the search results.
Can’t Find the Product you’re Looking for?
We started CheMondis back in 2018, so our marketplace is still relatively young. In case you can not find the product, you are looking for, we are happy to personally help you find what you need. Please enter the search term you are looking for and provide your e-mail address. Our customer support will reach out to you.
Further enjoy an abundance of services varying from personal on-boarding to individual, on-demand product searches. Take advantage of our one-on-one customer service and contact us today. We are here to help you find the right product for your specific needs – make CheMondis work for you.
Using Product Search Efficiently as a Seller
In order to make your products more accessible for buyers, suppliers must understand how the CheMondis product-search functions. There are three easy steps, which you can follow, in order to make your products more accessible on the CheMondis marketplace:
Choose Product Groups and Sub-groups
Link your product to relevant product groups and subgroups. By doing so, customers searching for a particular product group will come across your product automatically(E.g.: Solids, Resins).
Select Industry Filters
Users searching by industry-filters can select the industry within which they wish to find products. Link your product to proper industries, to make your product more accessible (E.g.: Agriculture, Construction).
Formulate Product Decriptions
Our search bar extracts data directly from product descriptions. If you want to make your offer more accessible for buyers, make sure to formulate your product descriptions.
To avoid a high number of technical or product-related questions, make sure to have an appropriate product description and up-to-date safety and technical data sheets in place. This creates trust among buyers and suppliers.
Now it is up to you

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) is the European regulation. It addresses the production and use of chemical substances and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. The regulation also established the European Chemical Agency (ECHA), which manages the technical, scientific, and administrative aspects of REACH.
REACH describes substances of very high concern (SVHC). Producers, importers or suppliers of products that contain SVHC-listed substances are obliged to notify ECHA when:
working in Europe,
and the total quantity used is more than one tone per year,
and/or the SVHC is present at more than 0.1% of the mass of one produced object.
ECHA has included 6 new substances to the SVHC list for authorization, extending it to a total of 197 substances. Four of the substances, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, were added to the SVHC list with the involvement of the Member State Committee (MSC) after public consultation. More information about the substances and reasons for their inclusion on the SVHC list are informed below.
